Definitely the end of an era. I'm not sure I understand why they are pulling the plug instead of turning over the reins, though. We all share the dismay over what's going on with tickets and the tour, but the fact that the venues are full and people are paying these ridiculous prices shows there is still plenty of interest in Bruce Springsteen and his music.

Yeah, now it's here

The logic of closing down a valuable, popular site like Backstreets escapes me. I'm sick at the ticket prices, too, and have felt that distancing from Bruce as well. But the reality is that there are venues on this tour full of people who are willing to cough up the big money. Bruce remains an important figure, maybe more than ever, and Backstreets should continue to exist to cover him. Its owners can do what they want, of course, but handing it off to someone new makes more sense to me than closing it down. I hate seeing something as crucial as Backstreets simply vanish.
