Ok...so if Carl doesn't make the cut, I'll go with the 12th son of the lama. Big hitter, the lama. Long.

Kenny Perry and Tiger are probably laughing at the weather.

The weather has always been a part of the Open tradition.

Is it just me, or is this the dumbest rule in all of sports. Golf is the only game where the player is required to keep his/her own record. Can you imagine if Ryan Howard's HR were DQ'd because he didn't update his slugging percentage in the team's official MacBook in the dugout (as if that existed) before he headed for the locker-room. Completely stupid. Everybody on the planet knows Wie's score. Jim Nantz has told us. Why do we need her to "verify it". Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
The idea about having a player sign his card is not a bad one.
Golf doesn't have umpires or referees. Its up to the golfers in each pairing to officiate so that all the golfers play under the same rules.
As far as Wie's screw up yesterday it was just a dumb thing on her part and it should have been forgotten about. She signed her card but not within the white lines of the scoring table. There was no effort to cheat by signing a lower score she just got caught up in the moment and forgot.
The PGA has made the rules alot more relaxed for situations like this and am kinda surprised the LPGA has not.

Well Rules are that you have to sign your scorecard and your opponent has to sign it as well to verify the scoore..

Your opponent has to keep your scoore to on his scoorecard and after the match they will be compared and if there are some diffences they will be soughted out before signing the scoorecard by both players

So what happened is that wie obviously got her scorecard signed by the opponent but forgot to sign it your self..

Just like cashing in a cheque.. its worthless without a signature...

Very simple and clear rule..

I'm certain that ESPN8, "The Ocho", has video of every shot of the tournament. This isn't the 1960s where nobody was walking with the tour, and counting every breath every golfer takes before and after their backswing.

There are plenty of LPGA assets available on the course to count strokes. I know the rule. It is pretty simple, and pretty clear. And pretty stupid.
