Long over due. Mrs. Gob asked me to vacuum the basement. It is too wet to go outside, so today is the day.

Our house was build around 1921. The basement floor is not good. Mrs Gob thinks it is packed earth. I think it is badly made cement. The surface is crumbling in many places, so vacuuming is much more than dust removal.

I tried our old Dyson (cord patched in 2 places) and if worked a little, but slowed down pretty quickly. Once you have an inch or so of crushed concrete in the canister, the air just doesn't flow.

I'll try the shop vac next, but that will involve more bending over, so taking a break first. Finding the wide mouth floor accessories is always a challage. I think I know where they are, but I always think that.

There is an old bathroom sink and medicine chest down there I've been wanting to get rid of forever. Mrs Gob wanted to hold onto them, because there were original to the house (when we bought it in 1991). Today I suggested moving them out to the shed. She countered if might be time to let them go. I had to bight my tongue to not point out her change in attitude. Better to let her think it is her idea.
