How nice that you interrupted your watching and creating your godly and divine Blurays for making that comment for the 1000th time !
What a little frustated guy must you be....
no, but one day I will be frustraded when there is no more CC, NYCBC etc. because only ONE person buys it and uploads it and all other download it
and if you are a fan and like watching/hearing Bruce "live" in your living room then you will be disappointed, too
oh and btw it has nothing to do with the fact that I sell blu-rays and invested ca. 4000 Euro on hardware and software
I always bought silver CDs, especially CCs when they release exlusives and the sound is good
Support the artist/producer!
I do own 2.000+ records, all original, I would never ever do piracy with official released stuff
I think you do judging from your beahviour
I wrote an email to Mr. CC in hope he reads it and may reconsider his mastering
today I had a meeting with a friend of mine who is a tone engineer and we tried working on a Paris night 2 matrix, it was hard for her since she obviously does only work with official recordings but she was surprised how some of the recordings I showed her sounded but she agreed that Godfathers are the worst mastering wise and Crystal Cat is close
but Mr. CC and his tapers are one of the few who come up with European recordings
it would be a pity not to have them anymore
same with NYCBC tapers, no FAN managed to record any reasonable video on this tour and the last tour in the US
many good audio tapers don't trade their recordings at all because they don't like what fans do to them (bad remastering, mp3s etc.) and they trade them in high resolution only
I think places like Jungleland should only be for fan-produced material and not for any bootleg sourced releases

Definition of a bootleg => a bootleg recording is an audio or video recording of a performance that was not officially released by the artist or under other legal authority

Wether it is made by a fan or someone who is out for profit, there are no copyrights or limitations what so ever to whatever anyone wants to do with the material after obtaining it.
Years ago there was a interview with one of the tapers who used to supply the Italian, Australian and German labels with recordings, both new and old.

He mentioned some crazy numbers when it came to number of pressed copies of a bootleg CD, ranging from around 50.000 copies in the 90's to, what he claimed, 2000-3000 copies for the (at the time) later CC releases.

Using that number CC will make roughly 25*3000 - production cost of say 5*3000 dollars = 60.000$ profit per release * 25 releases as year? That's 1.5 million dollars of profit a year. That is not recouping expenses, that is a hefty income.

Trust me, even if my number are of by half the bootleg sellers won't stop anytime soon. And since the prints are getting lower actually obtaining a copy is also harder.

Now, I expect someone to sya that 3000 copies is WAAAAAAAY less than they make. If so, modify the above calulation as you see fit.

They still make shitloads of money of, in most cases, other peopels recordings. The few recordings CC does themselves are usually very good to excellent but seriously. We don't need CC for that.

We don't need NYCB either for that matter. SUre, they release loads of shows but I would take 10% of that number and actually have some good stuff instead.
this seems to be an interesting read, will give it a go at some time...

a friend of mine who showed me what bootlegs are back in the late 90s told me CCs roughly sells/prints 1000 copies a piece and if so it has to be a killer soundboard Darkness / River release or something like that
Other Bruce bootleg labels who number their releases roughly sell 100 copies of each release
well, nobody will ever now for sure
I think most of the CC recordings are original recordings (not counting the last two or three years where they just took recordings that were already out there) and many many of them I would deeply miss
and the NYCBC footage is good-excellent in most cases, there's much I would hope for to be done better but it is the only video footage there is, hardly any FAN comes up with a full show on video so I wouldn't want to miss 'em!
and talking about profit etc. believe me my account is always +- 0
