I knew I should have shut up about DTMH... caught it twice in two weeks! Really enjoyed tonight's show though, had more energy to it.
Roy appeared at 6.56pm and Bruce left the stage at 9.57pm. The lack of variation and the fact it was still not quite dark when the show ended did not detract from a truly epic performance. EBJ agreed with me ( and he never does that ...ever). Hugely enjoyable.
Great you guys had an epic performance. Interested to hear the details on our next zoom and what seemed so different from the Paris performances. Others are commenting the same thing.
As with most things Bruce, it’s very subjective and nuanced but I’ll try to explain. The version of Prove It set the tone for the night, there was a passion that was almost visceral, the final solo was brutal, and this seemed to carry on through the night.
Darkness was inspired, I *think* an audible (can anyone confirm?), and as powerful as I’ve seen it. He seemed to race through the set list at breakneck speed, and yet the show was 3 hrs +. It was a huge stadium yet the silence for LMS was chilling, as were the opening notes of Backstreets.
It was my 5th show of the tour so far and the best. I hope it comes across on the recording.
Next up for me is Villa Park, can’t wait.

Much more eloquent than me Pete and I should add we both stayed out drinking and eating all night ( with some new found American friends) before catching the first flight home. EBJ didn't dare compete!
We have been up 2 days now. Old guys on tour can still do it, be it on stage or in the pit.
Oh and yes, Darkness and Candy's Room were audibles - the other 27 songs were as per set list.
As a local, I'd vowed never to see another gig at Murrayfield, as the sound is usually so bad. So glad I broke my rule and went last night.
