Shock horror
Less than 30KM away but not attending the ArenA. I was at the first ever concert here in 1996, given by Tina Turner, the sound was so bad that I never will go there for a gig, not even Bruce, rather go abroad (2x Dublin/1x London)

That's all folks. Show is over.
Big thanks to the streamer.
Next stop: Amsterdam night #2 - May 27, 2023
Glad I was sitting down when I saw detroit medley listed, the shock of the chnage in the encore would have been too much to bare had I been standing
Thanks for the Live Stream. I could see the show from work. Great surprise at the end of the show...Devil..
Some thoughts on last night. I was there with my son, first row at the right of the stage after showing up at 15.00 at the venue. Let me start with the negatives: the sound in the Johan Cruijff Arena, a soccerarena with a glassroof, is terrible. It has been described as a 'reverb-bin' ever since the day it was first used for a rockconcert. Not much has changed since then. The sound was ok for the first six songs. Than it all changed during Kitty's Back. The kick/bassdrum was awfully loud. So loud you couldn't hear the rest of the band or Springsteen singing properly. Also: the audience was passive. Maybe because of the sound, maybe because of the song choices. Springsteen had to work hard, to get hem to participate. He put extended/extra singalongs in during Prove it all night and Out in the Streets for instance. And an extended funny intro in Mary's Place. That being said: it improved the performance. He seemed to have fun, made some silly dance moves, goofed around with Steve, had some interactions with the audience. Bruce was loose and made some mistakes. Especially noticable during Wrecking Ball. It didn't matter. After Tenth Avenue Freeze-out, the band waved their goodbye, Max gave away his drumsticks when Springsteen asked them to do another song. Nobody seemed to be prepared for that. A rauncy Detroit medley followed. It was exactly what the audience needed. And to be honest, it was what i needed. This show confirmed me Springsteen still wants to work hard to win the audience. And he did. At least me. Despite the static setlist and the terrible, horrible sound. That we shook hands during Mary's Place helped.... It looks like i'm still a fanboy.
Detroit Medley
Trapped
so compared to the original setlist two extra's : Trapped and the Detroid medley
@DenverBrian posted:Oats, I don't think you can convince me that Mary's Place fits in this "tight, every song has a place" in this meaningful storyline of a static, same show every night, setlist. Surely songs like Out In The Street and Marys Place can come in and out of the setlist to add some variety.
Yeah!
"Mary's Place" could trade places with WOASD alternately
Seriously, I have my problems with this setlist. Not sure what to do during the Kitty's Back/Nightshift/E St Shuffle thingy three nights in a row in Gothenburg. Bring something good to read? It was boring in Barcelona the 2nd night already.
Still - it is a solid show.

It is funny that this was the first tour I have ever taken a bathroom break on. Went during Rosie and knew I wasn't going to really miss anything. It just frustrates me knowing there are so many new songs he could add to the setlist to keep it fresh.
Comes to something when we start getting excited about 2 addiitonal songs in a static setlist
