Just to set the record straight, the intent was to distribute messages from CJ regarding the state of the board.

Folks,

We crashed. Crashed hard. The fact that e-mail was not coming out was a symptom. I had the box rebooted and it never came back up.

The ISP is charging me a small fortune to fix things. The server has been rebuilt, but now I need to get the board installed again. The worst part they also lost my backup. I have another one, but it is a year old! Anyway, I *think* they can get the old hard disk mailed off to me. If we are lucky, I will get the data from the board off of it and sort us out again this weekend.

Love the article!

SPL Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I must report that the server's data has been
lost. My backup turned out to be faulty and the ISP mistakenly reinstalled
the server on top of our old hard drive, which I only was notified about
today. Between these two events, the Message Board is gone completely. We
have to build it up again from square 1.

Needless to say, I am extremely upset at myself for messing up the backup
and the ISP for doing exactly what I told them NOT to do (not to mnetion
taking a week to admit what they did).

I will be restoring the board tonight and opening it up to registration
again. In order to assure that everyone gets their old username back, I am
going to think I am going moderate the membership sign-ups (so Chance does
not register the name The Zach or Karen). Then, we must start over and build
up what was lost. I can not believe all those years of stories, tributes,
insights, reviews and trades are lost.

Sorry,

CJ
