At Metlife. What a day. The lines for GA lottery wristbands were forming very early, only a limited supply, but parking lots were not opening until much later, people were walking from hotels and all over. Following advice, first day I told the guard I was going to the Racetrack and walked. 2d day told him that and he looked at me: "the Racetrack is closed." So I turned around, somehow wound up back on the highway, sweating, got back into complex, where to park? Finally saw some cars parked along an access road, no signs, would I get towed? Took the chance. Luckily I thought to have a tiny folding chair, water and sandwhich with me. Walked and got in line. Hours of waiting in the sun, chair came in handy. Got the wristband. Think we were allowed to leave, moved my car back in after the lots opened. Lined up again at 5, back into the maze. Lottery-I hit, #4. People just ahead of me were cool, said no matter what would let me in the front of ramp with them. At some point the thunder and lightening started, don't remember when, guess was around 6 or so, all the low numbers were waiting inside for hours. We were really sweating it out. What if the show were cancelled. Probably no way we would retain our numbers, would be a whole new lottery. Talking with Complex people, they said it was their call for safety, not Bruce's. I heard a lot later of people wth high or no numbers infiltrating into the lines, but ours was very secure. Tom was really good, when we were finally allowed on the field he walked backwards watching us making sure no one changed position. Got to the ramp, show started, I guess after midnight which is why it's sometimes thought of as a 9/23 show. Funny to see there that Bruce has the lyrics to Workin' on the Highway embossed on a metal plate at the head of the ramp. My one picture I think is of him playing that, my phone was just about dead. So everything worked out, if I had not spent so much time getting lost and parking would not have gotten that number. He passed that yellow birthday cake right over my head, no forks, I'm not going to eat it like a dog, sticky mess.

That's alright Frank we are all getting older and a bit forgetful. They say reading keeps the mind fresh.

I remember lining up in the walkways. Rounded up in groups of 100, or whatever the number was. Looking out for line jumpers.
I remember finally filing in, and seeing the stands full. It felt like they got everyone on the floor in 15 minutes. Then boom, the show started.
I think it started around 10:00? Ended just before 2:00?
Police clearing the parking lot after the show. We don’t care where you go…you can’t stay here. Lol

That was one long ass day.

I don't know about those folks in that photo.  But everyone in our group left with a huge smile on our faces.  We had a ball that and the fact that we only had to to a short way up the road to our beds. lol  That being said, now matter how long I'm on my feet at a Bruce show... I'm always hopped up after the show.  I can never go right to bed.  If Beth's asleep I'm up on the laptop giving a review here or chatting with someone or down at the bar. lol

Bruce's shows are like speed to me.  It's my adderall.

There was a bunch of us at the Holiday Inn. We too had a wonderful time. A few of our friends from Canada came down and added  to the festivities. At one of the first two shows, not sure which one... our entire crew pulled #1 into the pit.  We all surrounded the middle riser and extended out both sides of the stage. It was  quite the week.

I listened to the 3rd show on the 30th yesterday.  It brings back great memories. I got chills a couple of times.  The last  song I had Beth in one arm and Ally my daughter on the other arm as we all sang together with Bruce and watched the fireworks.  Every time I listen to that show and that song, it brings tears to my eyes.

I wonder if we'll ever have those moments again surrounded by twenty of our closest friends due to this new pricing structure?
