Good article!

But I think I read it twice.

Yeah... but that's a good thing at our age cuz the ending still surprised you.

Just further proving that Steve is completely out of touch. Yeah Steve. The generation with their faces buried in their phones are gonna save us all!

Not to get too political, but you know by definition, I am a millennial and I am in my late 30's hold a good job, own my house, pay my taxes and hate my employer mandated dependence on my phone.

I find the above personification inaccurate and offensive. I feel the term carries a prejudice has become an easy way to dismiss the opinions and ideas of an entire generation that has a different world view.

I do think my generation has that different view of the world by necessity, Older generations grew up in a completely alien time than the one we live in now and a lot of them don't understand that. Some things are better, some things are worse but its very common to see outdated thinking of the generation currently in charge, and a stubbornness to listen. (to clarify this is not a democrat/republican statement, its a generational one)

Also, sliding back on topic... my generation has a lot more access to information and facts than in the 60's-80's. So the job of the musician has shifted. We don't need CCR, Dylan, Springsteen, SVZ to get involved with politics because we are bombarded by it every single day from every angle. Especially with the accelerated news cycle, by the time Steve could write, produce and release something political, the message has already been beaten to death.

You can both disagree but make valid observations. The information access today compared to the 70s is mind blowing, but we never looked to musicians to inform us ever, I was there and can say that is an innaccurate exaguration based on access to 70s music in the present. Personfying the current generation as "faces buried in phones" is another exaguration; I think Buckshot just needed to express his frustration with the ongoing inability of people to work together. This has changed very slowly compared to the growth of technology, and it seems "being out of touch" has always been the status quo. That is my personal opinion and expression of my dissapointment, but we all go on and continue to try to get better. I think Steve has always done this, one of the reasons why he still has my respect. But he will always be Sugar Miami Steve Van Zandt to me!

I guess we’ll never know Steve’s thoughts on the cauliflower vs rice debate.  We just can’t leave this in the hands of millennials.   I don’t care how socially responsible they think they are!!  It’s just too damn important.

I live in the koreatown area in LA, and they do amazing things with cauliflower here; it tastes good and it's good for you, especially with rice. I see plenty of young whippersnappers scarfing it up too. Maybe one day they will have the wisdom needed, but right now they need to shut up and listen. Or they can put on their headphones and listen to Pete Townsend's words "hope I die before I get old".

CAULIFLOWER RICE VS. WHITE RICE vs. OATS

Believe it or not, rice is kind of a controversial ingredient when discussed among nutritional professionals lately. On the one hand, many nutritionists and wellness coaches are saying rice is just an empty source of calories. These leaders in the nutrition field highly recommend avoiding rice altogether. That’s because there are quite a few carbs in rice. Though there are still those who believe rice is a safe carb.

Eat plenty of both and go out and sow your wild oats, millenials!

2 pts for working Oats into my plagiarized article

people would jump onstage and grab me by the head and scream, ‘tilly! bootlegs!'"

My cholesterol has always been good but  my triglyceride levels are another story.  White starches including white rice always drove them up.  I switched to whole wheat bread and pasta and wild rice a long time ago.

I was thinking of how I could get 'willy' into this but decided it wouldn't be appropriate.  Ohhh, I just did.
