Nils Lofgren will be the guest on the first episode of “What’s Up on E Street?,” a new online series presented by the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University. The series goes live July 7 at 10 a.m. and can be accessed via monmouth.edu/springsteen-archives-and-center-for-american-music or facebook.com/Bruce-Springsteen-Archives-Center-for-American-Music-668082893545781.

Roy Bittan will be the second interviewee. The premiere date of that episode will be announced later.

According to a press release, “The new series highlights the individual members of the band and how they are dealing with the global COVID-19 pandemic. Topics covered include how they are spending their days, and how the pandemic is impacting their creativity.”

Lofgren said in the press release: “Like all musicians, the COVID crisis has had its impact on me, and my entire family, not just as a member of the E Street Band, but also as an American. It’s important that the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music capture this moment in our nation’s history. Years from now, ‘What’s Up on E Street?’ will help tell the story of these trying times.”

Bob Santelli, a New Jersey native and Monmouth University alumnus who is the founding executive director of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, will conduct the interviews in the series.

Another Springsteen Archives series, “Soundstage,” will debut on July 2 with an interview with original E Street Band keyboardist David Sancious.
