We've talked about it in the past. Now let's do it.

Let's name the Top 5 bootlegs for each tour, with as many as 5 more suggestions. The sound has to be pretty damn good for a boot to make the list, but sound quality is not the sole criteria. We'll weigh in the performance (i.e., the energy level, the setting, the setlist, etc.) because that matters, too. Otherwise we'd all be listening to the Atlanta Rising boot, which won't even make the list.

I'll keep a running list here at the top of what the consensus seems to be for each tour. It will change, of course.
Anybody who wants other ideas can probably dig through this thread someday for suggestions that fell short. There are going to be a lot of excellent boots that don't make the list.
So let's get started.

This is the 'Working On A Dream' tour thread, covering the dates 2009-04-01 to 2009-11-22.

2009-04-16 LA (LA Matrix, hoserama)
2009-05-23 Meadowlands (Bossman)
2009-06-27 Glastonbury (?)
2009-06-28 Hyde Park (Hyde Park Night, CC)
2009-07-03 Frankfurt (Frankfurt Dream Night, CC)
2009-07-05 Vienna (Carnival On The Danube, Godfather)
2009-07-19 Rome (Roma Dream Night, CC)
2009-07-21 Turin (Turin Dream Night, CC)
2009-07-23 Udine (Udine Dream Night, CC)
2009-10-08 Meadowlands
2009-10-20 Philadelphia (Flyinggonz)

With the Spectrum finale, the 2 recent NYC shows, and Hoserama's LA matrix probably taking spots, we're not left with much. I would rule out Glastonbury simply because we can save it for the essential DVD list. Buffalo or one of the remaining shows might knock our socks off.

Which European CC release (or GF Vienna) is the best? I haven't really been keeping up with bootlegs over the last couple of months.

imo Hyde Park Night has the best sound
Torino has good sound and a better setlist

...to have just one thing, just one thing in your whole life that you do that makes you proud of yourself, I don't think that's too much for anybody to ask...

What about Frankfurt (2009-03-07)? Pretty good boot and a good setlist.

Another point - I think that the WOAD list should have 10 boots. 5 with 'normal' setlists, and then 5 incorporating the 5 best full album performances. That's easy for WIESS and The River obviously. Then people can discuss which performance of Darkness, BUSA and BTR are best. Forget about the rest of the setlist and just focus on the album performance.

I see what you're saying, but 10 boots for this average Tour, and only 5 for The River?

If I had to whittle it down to the Album shows and definitive 'normal shows', I'd take Giants #4, Philly #2, Philly #4, MSG #1 and #2 then Izod and Turin.

Let the uproar begin!
Sure, ten may seem strange. Then again, the second US leg has been an exception to the touring norm. If we kept it to 5, it's hard to see past shows including the five albums that have been performed. That would totally ignore the first US leg and the Euro leg, which both had some very good shows.

On the face of it, ten from this tour over the River or Darkness tour is madness, but we need more than 5, in my opinion, to incorporate the exceptional circumstances of the last couple of months.

I don't think it needs a seperate category. If a WOAD song is in the setlist include it in the WOAD category; if not include it under MISC.

Hyde Park CC has very good sound but there are far better setlists/perfornaces available including the ones suggested by Patrick.
as "must have" boots ,the album shows are of historical importance so any serious brucefag os gonna have them...river show was the best of them...btr nt one gs was superb , buffalo and wiess are also required but none of them are woad shows per se...in fact i don't think if memory serves there was a single woad song at msg river show

i'd put the album shows in a misc. category with the christmas shows, chrstic etc

just stand back and let it all be

My guess is that it is more when he wants to "release" them.

It's been a year now so is it realy a time issue?

Wait, is he still working on Buffalo and MSG#1?
