Smileyman has inspired me with all these new OAN threads, what can I say.

Anyway...

What other songs has Springsteen used to make an overt connection to older ones by other artists?

Like for instance, I know Racing has the "Dancing in the Streets" reference and the piano part is a slowed up "And Then He Kissed Me."

Ramrod seems like it has its roots in "Little Queenie" (no pun intended). And obviously, we all know the lengthy history behind She's the One's signature beat.

Are there any other songs that he does this in? I mean, obviously there must be, but has anyone noticed anything that's maybe not as overt as those examples?

Please, no "Radio Nowhere is structured like 867-5309" jokes, ya hooligans.

I read posts about songs reminding people of other songs.

I have a hard time with this concept because usually the song in question is better than the song that they are reminded of.

Rock music is by design a very simple tool. It's not rocket science. You basically have a hammer and a nail.

The feelings that good songs express is an entirely different animal. This is where songs are born in my mind.
