The E Street Radio rarity I am dying to hear again is a Tenth Avenue Freeze Out alternate take that I've never heard anywhere else since. It is not on any boots.

It was a very raw in studio version, with a funkier guitar break in the middle section. The horns were a bit different, not quite perfected, and Bruce talked - rapped the "When the change was made uptown" part, with a few different lyrics.

I was so stunned to hear this version - outtake, that I pulled off the highway onto the gravel roadside to listen to the rest of the track.

I know 100% that I did not imagine it.

Has anyone else ever heard this version?

Tilly, that is the one! Thanks so much!

Hearing it again, now I remember the scat lyrics and him naming Miami Steve in the song. Cool shit!
