can someone walk me through this? I am challenged...and also working with an iPad since my computer is having connectivity issues.  I found the Jungleland site and registered but can't get the links to open up.  The youtube clip was great, and I'd really like the rest of the show

Hey, this one just up on Dime. I haven't got it yet but it sounds like it may be better than the other 2.

It sounds pretty damn good. It's lacking a bit in bass and the volume needs to be cranked up but otherwise it's a nice listen and far better than the previous 2 versions.

but this new source has some sound fluctuations.

I haven't downloaded it yet, but depending on what codec he taped in it might be LOSSY also.

Dime is not taking new accounts, not that I could figure it out anyhow

you can figure it out, it is easy once you do it a few times.

I have it now. Just went straight to the awesome 4 of Kitty, Incident, Rosy and NYCS.
Yep, crank up the volume and turn up the bass and it is a very nice listen.
And these 4 are friekin incredible!!!

It's not lossy, but it does have SBEs. It's also 24bit/48Khz, so you have to fix the SBEs and re-encode to 16bit/44.1Khz to burn to disc. There will be a proper edit of this on ABMS soon.

Another version of Rome by Gianlu07 has finally finished uploading on JL after 3 days. The seeder was not showing which kept the torrent in the dead category but the uploading kept on going very slowly.

I'm not sure, but it seems that the sources uploaded by suarez on dime and Gianlu07 on jl are the same.

Different info file, different splits and 16/44 so not identical. I have not checked for same sources by a/b comparison so you may be right.

Same as the one on DIME. The sound is a little thin, but definetely very listenable.

btw the new source from the camoder comes from a dvd (maybe even blu-ray?) that is for sale but I don't know who sells it

It is the same one. But the one on Dime had severe SBEs and the one on JL only had one. One INFO file says it was a video rip into two big wave files then cut up. The other INFO doesn't say what it was taped with. I guess the taper could have given multiple copies away, or perhaps he put one up himself. I'm going to try to contact the two seeders and see if they verify.

The Bruce Roma torrent does still have some issues in that there are sbe's and the first track is 16/48 where you need it to be 16/44 for burning to cd. The version Ivan loaded to ABMS is the best for burning if you can get that.

And the Jungleland uploader has verified that it is the same as in on Dime.

 

Yes, if you want it right and fixed grab what I posted to ABMS. Or wait for the inevitable Godfather release.;

The problem with putting back up at either site is that the original torrents are still there, so they don't allow it to be seeded again while still active. It would get banned. It's too bad, because folks are downloading it as it is and don't know about the problems.

Other than downloading from ABMS then Karen could try converting/fixing the files.

 

Conversion of the ist track to 16/44 could be done using freeware programs like Audacity or Foobar.

 

Fixing the SBEs can be done using Traders Little Helper which is freeware. Only one SBE on the JL torrent is a problem with a second one right at the end that is less of a concern.

 

Neither step is particularly difficult.
