Heart of the order too. No worries, Yanks can't stay this hot forever. They will hit a dry spell. Sox have more pitching, which is scary when you think of it wink
I think he was referring to losing another game in the standings rather than the game itself. Big picture, man, big picture.

Going into Tuesday night's game the Sox were only 1-41 when trailing after 8 innings. Did anyone really expect them to do it two days in a row especially when coming from 6 runs down?

Yes, big picture (I lived through 78 and 86 and . . . well you get the picture). How does that stat (1-41) compare to other teams. With today's closer, probably hard to win, if losing in the 8th??

No, fool. Didn't you notice the smirk in that post?

In the past 30 days, the Tigers have played their absolute worst, going 10 - 21. Their starting pitching has been shaky and relief has been crap (injuries are no excuse). Half the team has missed time in the last few days because of the flu. It's been a long month.

In contrast, the Yankees have played their very best, and have only just caught up in the wild card race, still 5 games off the division lead.

We've got Kenny Rogers, Andrew Miller and Joel Zumaya coming off the DL shortly.

You've had the better part of the season to ruminate over last year's ALDS. Time flies, eh?

Woke up this morning MY house was cold

no need to get all riled up JD. i hear what your saying, but please, if your counting on kenny rodgers, you will be watching the playoffs instead of going. look, i like the tigers, and i hope they make it, i still think they are the best team in the AL from top to bottom, but the fact is, right now they are behind 3 teams, and all by two games, cause as we all know, the loss column is the only thing that counts. also a fact, you mentioned the yanks have caught up, well no, they have not, cause they are also 2 games behind seattle and 5 behind boston.
beating out cleve or det means nothing to ny, they would still be out of the playoffs. and why were thay 14 games out? well the first two months, they had 15 diff starting pitches, and 9 were rookies which is tough to overcome. its weird, but i root just as hard for the mets, they seem to have really fallen off, yet they have been in first place all year, which is the diff between the american and national leagues. mets-tigers, or mets-red sox would be great to watch in oct. cleve is terrible and i have no idea how the heck they have been around the top all year, they stink and would not beat anyone in a short series.
pitching and hitting suck to the max.
as far as the yanks, they finish aug with 14 games against the tigers, angels, and sox, and as you know, 3 games were played already. we are going to 2 of the red sox games at the end of aug, so i just hope they can stay close, so those games really count for the division. the only team that scares the yanks is of course LA, and its been like that for years, they have our number no doubt.
as far as the yanks playing the best right now, and the tigers and sox not, well, thats what makes races, right? if it didnt happen that way, we wouldnt be having this conversation, the yanks would have been done for good in june. you cant blow 8 and 14 game leads if the leading team doesnt go south.
remember one very impotant thing. baseball is really only a 42 game season. why? because the best and worst teams in baseball are always gonna win and lose 60 games. its what you do in the other 42 that makes you on top or bottom.
good luck to your tigers, i hope they make it, i really do. i always want the best 4 teams in, and to me, thats the yanks, tigers, sox, and angels. not sea or cleve.
in the national league, IF the mets play up to par, there is no team there to challange them. thats a BIG if.

So, I misread it, I only saw lose. Does it deserve THREE separate replies? It still makes no sense either. AND you're still a nitwit.

Riled? That would connote some degree of emotional investment in your opinion on my part.

Tell us more about the 42 game season.

yea its not my quote, but then again i assume you know more than girardi and o'neill who said it, right?
by the way, you better win the division, wild card is not looking too good.
i still say good luck to you/
I'm 47 years old and been been going to Yankee games for 41 of those years and was just there Monday. So cheap is not an option, and I'm single & government employed, so I pay for my own shit, not my spouse or his or her company. I can go to ANY game I want to cause I can afford ANY price. So FUCK OFF.

I'll be in a condo in Miami the rest of the week, BYE.
