IMO pick Passaic Night, and add SSB&TAJ as alternative pick. It's not as loud as Passaic, but it has much better clarity, more air, and highs are so much better. When listening with good speakers & headphones, there is a huge difference. Comparing the different sources is hard, because Passaic is much more louder (loudness war "you own the volume button") than others. Same goes many times with remastering (is it just louder or is it better?)
Passaic sounds best when listening with basic stereo system/car. As for The Way It Was, it has really pumping bass compression (due original radio source), and to me it's unlistenable.

I've gotta check that - as noted, I recorded the show with a dbx compression unit in-line - when I converted the show to the PC, the "expander" may have been set too high... that would cause the effect you're hearing.

Over 50% of the votes going to Passaic Night, now that's the sort of consensus I was looking for! I take my hat off to the non-conformists who chose one of the others.
