08/31/2003: Bruce and the E Street Band close out their ten-night stand at Giants Stadium, opening with the very first live performance of “Cynthia.” A few songs later, “Lucky Town” makes its only tour appearance, and a full-band “Jersey Girl” fittingly closes the show.

That was a great night, and a great memory I'l never forget. The night before was awesome too. Back to back, then I got to replicate it at Shea Stadium 5 weeks later.

You can't help but notice/figure that Cynthia got played because Steve got him to do it. He's all over it, the joy! If only Bruce listened to him more................

Those 10 dates were the SPL Tailgate dates.  We sure met a lot of friends.  And you're right, the three at Shea were terrific also. Take a look at these tour premieres at the Last Stand: JOHNNY 99 / MAN'S JOB

ROULETTE, RENDEZVOUS / ANOTHER THIN LINE, NEW YORK CITY SERENADE

Night 3 was tough to beat:  I WISH I WERE BLIND, BACK IN YOUR ARMS, HIGHWAY 61 REVISITED (with Bob Dylan), QUARTER TO THREE (with Gary U.S. Bonds, Laurie Anderson, Laurie Tobias, Garland Jeffreys, Willie Nile, and Jon Landau) BLOOD BROTHERS

Ally and I went backstage with a friend from the SPL.  Nobody was there , it was like a ghost town.  I wanted  to go on the infield and mix with friends.  We went to the elevator and a couple of others  were going back up that we knew .  She asked to go with them.  Sure enough Stevie comes out sees Ally and they go back stage where she met the rest of the band and got more autographs.  Go figure?
