margilca, that would make some sense I suppose as he's saying he has even more good luck than this man who seems to have all the money he wants. However it seems an odd person to use as an example given that I believe he was later overthrown and died in exile, which doesn't seem all that lucky to me.

'Well I've got more good luck honey than old king farouk'.
King Farouk, did spend all the money while in exile.
The choice is really strange ...
I would bet that the nigth before he wrote the song, Discovery channel broacasted a series or videobiography of Faoruk.
At this moment the only other person like Farouk I can think of is George Best !
(talking about UK/US world)
Is there any other man you can think of, specially US or UK ?
I mean if you can think of a more obvious name.

Thanks
Regards,
Margilca

I believe it makes sense...

He says 'Cause I got more good luck honey than old King Farouk'
So he says he has more luck the Farouk, but like him he dosen't have the one thing he really wants.

That is probabaly what he was getting at. I guess my problem with it is that to me, the phrasing suggests that Farouk himself was a lucky man, (which doesn't really seem true based on what we know of him), and that he is even luckier.
