I don't quite understand how I'm On Fire fits with the theme of the tour. It has a paedo stalker vibe to it so I am not sure it fits on any tour but this tour is about loss so I just don't get it. Especially when there are so many other songs (especially from his new album) that would fit better.

No one knows exactly when Bruce wrote the lyrics, most likely during the late 70's as the song was put together in 1982. I don't believe stalking was even a crime or in the public's conscience back then. Please don't misunderstand me, I don't condone Stalking or any act of Domestic Violence.
I think this was a song about a young man having the hots for a young lady, plain and simple. How many of us couldn't wait for our girlfriend's parents not to be home? It's either his girl or an affair. Either way, he's got the hots for her.
It's the male version of the Eagle's "Lyin' Eyes". Although as far as I know... it's never been included in a court case like "Lyin' Eyes".
I know I never even considered it anything but until I read that some young ladies were offended by the song.
Different eras... Different Meanings.
I do get it, similar to Every Breath You Take as well. I just find it odd that it's in the rotation now. I mean, it's not like this is the TOL tour where the theme is love. Honestly, I have not heard I'm on Fire live before so I would probably rather hear that than Wrecking Ball again, but Wrecking Ball at least fits. Plus, it's a chants to boo the Giants.
As we get older we like to look back and reminisce a bit. Could be a little bit of before and after?
If he is reminiscing about the muse of that song, my new question is where the heck has Patti been?
Pre Patti, She arrived in 84.

I got that, I was thinking more sinister. Bruce did something to Patti because he wants to be back with the muse (forgive me, my wife watches a lot of ID network shows).
Mine's into British TV which I don't get at all.
I love some British shows (they have good crime dramas and I am a sucker for Doc Martin).
Her family isn't even British, go figure?

I took the liberty to add the best British crime drama to your list……
and the good GP prefers to be called Dr. Ellingham thank you, and no, he does not manufacture those kewl boots. Also, FYI, Dr Ellingham’s LEAST favorite Springsteen song is ‘Blood Brothers’. 😝

Steve interview on the setlists, I didn't watch yet: Steven Van Zandt on Springsteen's E Street Band Tour: Podcast (consequence.net) Also, after a nasty response to one guy on Twitter he had a more concialtory one: "I love our fans. They know it. I may be a bit short with phonies that measure a show by amount of songs or length of time which is bullshit. But your thing is legit. You had it your way for 40 years. Enjoy your memories my friend! It’s something different now. Most folks like it." Me: the setlist is very meh. As far as telling a coherent story or history, I don't get it. Out in the Street? Candy's Room? Night Shift? Trapped? (a nothing song IMO, "trapped" over and over again) Don't see how they are so significant as to be a Last Tour setlist. Why I would not see multiple shows this time.
