Bruce Springsteen was born and raised in New Jersey, which has been a central theme in many of his most popular songs. Springsteen first picked up the guitar in his teens and would eventually go on to join several bands including The Castiles, Earth and Steel Mill. Springsteen has worked with other music artists such as Donna Summer, Lou Reed, Jerry Lee Lewis and John Fogerty. To date, Springsteen has sold over 120 million albums worldwide. Springsteen has garnered a staggering amount of awards, including twenty Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, two Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award. In 1999, Bruce Springsteen was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I suspect they mean earnings rather than salary. Even if they are correct in referring to his salary then it will likely be gross.  After paying circa 40% in taxes, work related recurring expenses (work boots, aged jeans, hair dye, botox and viagra) and capital expenses(hip and other body part replacements for him and the band) then his take home is probably only about 40 million.
