"The Joint In the Woods"
My beautiful friend used to take me there, and we would see the bands and work on our drinking habits. She was over 18, and I had just turned 19. This was 1975., I had just heard "Night" that day. It was really loud and we had to get face to face and scream. Patty had an older boyfriend (she said) that I never met. Sometimes it got real crowded and there was no room between us,. We went to the rides at the Jersey Shore. One day we were in the coatroom at work, and I gave her a big hug from behind and told her I loved her.
She still had her boyfriend when I put my suitcase and records in my '68 Mustang and took off for California. I saw her again on December 26, 1978 at the Philly Spectrum to see Southside and J.Geils on my first trip home. She hadn't seen me for a year and half, no boyfriend now, and we stayed at my brother's dorm when we got back from Philly.

Bruce made it safe for me to show my feelings at an age when I didn't know what to do. So did Patty. Thanks forever
That was my my first live Bruce show. As Bruce Standards go, it wasn't crowded. I had a t-shirt from The Joint in the Woods that I bought that night. Not a Bruce shirt, it had the venue on the front, it looked like a large log cabin with a big joint going through the building at an angle. The t-shirt finally fell apart about the time of the Rising Tour. It' still bothers me that the tape of that date is so lousy. lol
Sadly, the Joint burned in 1978. Many rock clubs burn down, don't know why, just my own observation from researching so many for Brucebase. When I am trying to find out when the club went out of business or ended in some way, one strategy is search name of venue and "fire". Get a lot of hits.
