This maybe my wife's favorite song and Heart was her closest cousin's favorite group. Sadly he passed away not long after this. It is such a fabulous version, just blows me away.

John, I couldn't agree more. This has been a favorite since I first saw it. I can't believe it's already been 8 years!
Shane did a fine job with the solo. Imagine playing an iconic Page solo...in front of Page!
Not to mention the President.
No doubt, but that wasn't his first rodeo playing for a president. He played at Obama's inaugural, and at least one other Kennedy Center Honors. I read his own account of playing Kennedy Honors when it was the Who, and he spoke at length about what it was like to be playing in front of Daltrey and Townsend. He gave a brief mention about Bush and Vader-I-mean-Cheney being in the audience, and while that was significant, it seemed playing for the Who is what was most memorable. On the other hand, Shane was ecstatic about Obama being elected, so I'm sure that was a big part of the equation as well.
I read a couple things about Shane when he was in Denver with Marc Cohn and Cohn was shot on the street. I had no idea at the time that he was playing with Cohn, or anything he might have been doing musically, so I read a couple of things about him. Then he kept popping up at these big national events.
Ron,
You should like this one too:
I do like that one! Thanks for sending it. Man, I'd really like to see Ann sing it, or any number of other Bruce songs.
I just love how well she knew the lyrics, barely watched the lyrics sheet.
