It’s been a rocky journey for these guitars.

Eight guitars signed by rock 'n' roll legends were stolen from a Florida storage unit, Daytona Beach police announced Tuesday. The various guitars were signed by the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, U2, Van Halen and Paul McCartney and had a combined value of about $20,000.

Two of the guitars, signed by Dylan and Van Halen, have since been returned to their owner, Jack Baker. The other six, however, are still missing.

One man has been arrested in relation to the thefts, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported. Jeremy Andrewlavage, 43, attempted to pawn the Van Halen-signed guitar at a local shop Tuesday. Unluckily for Andrewlavage, police had alerted the store’s owner a week earlier to look out for these guitars. The owner called the cops.

Baker moved the guitars to the storage unit because he believed it was a safer location than his condo, according to the News-Journal. However, it was decidedly not safer after he left the unit unlocked.

Baker asked his friend Victoria Longo to check on the storage unit, and she said all the guitars were there when she followed up in October, the News-Journal reported. But sometime between that check-in and Dec. 2, the guitars — and a bottle of vodka — were stolen.

Police recovered the Dylan-signed guitar on Dec. 2, but didn’t know who it belonged to, according to the News-Journal. Longo visited the unit on Dec. 17 and realized the guitars were stolen. She reported the theft on Dec. 20, noting that only she and Baker knew the instruments were inside.

Baker has offered a $1,000 reward for anyone who returns the guitars, which again are valued at a total of $20,000.
