I hope they give them the chance at a title if they go undefeated and other teams screw up.
Now a BCS bowl game, there is no reason not to if they win the rest of the games. How about the orange bowl
oh and go trojans
USC has a very difficult schedule left.
Looks like Florida has te best chance to play Ohio State.

The BCS computers have Rutgers ranked ahead of Ohio State and second only to Michigan.

I heard that on fox awhile ago that they were ranked 2nd..
I have a hard time trying to understand it all
3 Big East teams in the BCS top 10? No way. The top 5 are about right. Rutgers has a decent team, but there's no way they should be ahead of Arkansas or even Texas and LSU.
Florida will lose to Arkansas.
Notre Dame will beat USC (major revenge game,yes, on the road).
OSU will beat Michigan.
W.Virginia will beat Rutgers.
Im seeing a ND vs. OSU national title game.

WVU vs winner of tOSU/Meechigan
There's no way the loser of OSU/Michigan gets dropped below WVU (assuming a close game).
You're describing a BCS rematch of the Big 10 championship game.

You'd think that link would have helped J, but it didn't ![wink wink](http://spl.ubbforum.com/static/images/graemlins/icon_wink.gif)
bcs sucks
And I agree there is a problem with the teams Rutgers plays vs.. say USC, Ohio..etc..
strength of schedule and all.

nice try with your voodoo logic
Does anyone know how well the Big East teams have done against other conferences this year?

best among all of the BCS conferences
I guess that could explain why the computors have Rutgers so high.

Big Whoop. The Big East's only win against a non-conf. BCS team was WVU's win over (current) #19 Maryland. Here's a detailed inter-conference comparison from the Colley Matrix.
Although not yet updated for last weekend's games, the Anderson & Hester inter-conference rankings (2nd table, right column) suggest that only the SEC and Big 12 had weaker non-conf schedules than the Big East and Big 10.
This also suggests that the Big East's (perceived) strength of schedule (especially in human polls) is rather incestuous.
OTOH, Meeechigan has beaten #5 Notre Dame and #9 Wisconsin, with #1 OSU in its sights.
Louisville's out-of-conference wins: Kentucky (6-4), Temple (1-10), Miami (5-5), K-State (7-4). Combined opponents' records: 19-23.
Rutgers OOC wins: UNC (1-9), Illinois (2-9), Ohio (7-3), Howard (4-6). Combined (14-27)
WVU: Marshall (4-6), E Wash (3-8), Maryland (8-2), E Carolina (6-4), Miss St. (3-7). Combined (24-27)
That's the top half of the Big East and there isn't a single win over a big time opponent, Maryland being the only team even ranked. The rest of their wins are over basketball schools and each other. There's always this mid-season kink in the BCS that gets resolved once the computers crunch through the late-season grudge match and conference championships.
The 8 BCS teams will be OSU, USC, FL, WVU, Tex, and GATech, with Mich and ND taking the at-large.

There are 10 BCS teams - Boise State will likely get one along with another 2nd place team from SEC, Big East, or Pac 10
That's right, there are two more consolation prizes to deflect the annual criticism of shutting out the 10-1 or 11-0 CUSA/MAC/WAC Cinderella team. Boise State and Arkansas.
BTW - the annual criticism had focused on the Big East in the past
Bowl Records - 2001 -2005
Big East -> 5 - 9
Big 10 -> 16 - 18
Pac 10 -> 14 - 14
Big 12 -> 10 - 20
SEC -> 19 - 15
WAC -> 8 - 6
Ind. -> 2 - 4
C-USA -> 8 - 9
ACC -> 20 - 13
MAC -> 6 - 4
Big East -> 5 - 9
Big 10 -> 16 - 18
Pac 10 -> 14 - 14
Big 12 -> 10 - 20
SEC -> 19 - 15
WAC -> 8 - 6
Ind. -> 2 - 4
C-USA -> 8 - 9
ACC -> 20 - 13
MAC -> 6 - 4
There is only 1 scenario in which Rutgers gets to #2.
They must win out.
Florida loses to Florida St @St.
USC loses to either Cal or UCLA.
ND loses to USC.
OSU- Mich. game is a bore.
The odds are against it happening but its not impossible.
