The bonus tracks here make me think mr CC was in USA too and this would be great.

I haven't compared them, but wasn't the Bakerstuff tape of 2nd August a particularly good one? Could be where the majority of the bonus tracks come from.

I don?t know, but a guess is they have recording equipment that the common fan can?t afford.

You are right Tim I compared the 2 tracks , the bonus are from Buker tape with a great remaster job , hope one day Godfather will learn something .

Actually the gear CC uses isn't that great/expensive. At least it didn't use to be back in '99-'00.

well, they're doing something right. This is an amazing recording. Cracking show too and I'm only at the end of the first disc. A fine Backstreets, the best Roulette since 1988, love the guitar in Darkness, and the first listenable Janey since 85.

Gotta be the boot of the tour so far, soundwise at least.
First Night is almost as good.
I even liked Thunder Road this time around!

One thing CC does (at least did in '99) was to bring several people in with him that was used as sound shields in the GA area. So they create a buffer around the taper of quiet people to reduce the chance of talkers and clappers.

That, good positioning and decent gear gets you good recordings.
