I just … it still amazes me some.  There was a popular generational rebound by the general public away from BITUSA around 20 years ago, when much of the ‘younger crowd’ grew tired of that guy who growled and prowled around in jeans and a headband, and who only associated that guy with one song and one album.  But behind the scenes, popular artists, grunge artists, alternative artists, non-mainstream artists across genres, never lost their affection or awe with Springsteen.  Whether it was Eddie Vedder, or an aging Patti Smith, or even a young Lady Gaga, Bruce has continued to be respected amongst his peers young and old alike.   That people like Jack Antonoff and Brandon Flowers get excited with the possibility of collaboration with Bruce, makes me think of the story of a youthful Bob Dylan traveling to meet his sick and ailing hero, Woody Guthrie.   A healthy and active Springsteen has been able to do what a dying Guthrie couldn’t - perform with artists from a new generation who venerated his work.  As Neil Young sang “It’s better to burn out, than fade away”, I am happy to see Bruce at 70 burning that motherfucker fat candle at both ends.  My my.

That's so true.  I've been lucky enough to attend most of the LOD shows and you can see the awe in the youngsters that get to share the stage with Bruce even if it's  with everyone singing.

It is definitely cool to see collaborations like this...and bring on the Mellencamp one!

But I don't think this works that well, song is ok, intro is nice but after that not sure I like it. And I don't feel like Bruce really fits in that well to the Killers style.

Maybe after a few more listens it'll grow on me?

Cheers,

Hazy
