DESERT TRIP WITH BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN RUMORED TO MAKE A COMEBACK

ACCORDING TO A REPORT FROM HITS DAILY DOUBLE, THE CLASSIC ROCK FESTIVAL DESERT TRIP COULD BE BACK SOON
Desert Trip debuted in 2016, featuring a solid classic rock festival that both classic and new rock fans could appreciate. Following a hiatus, rumors are swirling that the festival is returning in the coming years and will bring a massive bill of talent.
According to Hits Daily Double, the festival is rumored to be make a comeback with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band as one of the headliners. Of course, it’s well-known that the festival has been trying to get Robert Plant and Jimmy Page to perform, the two surviving members of Led Zeppelin, but it doesn’t appear that will happen. At least, not for this year.
“The organizers of classic-rock fest Desert Trip—led by Paul Tollett, who is also wheeling and dealing for the Coachella lineup—are said to be working hard to secure Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, but that booking appears shaky at best,” the publication states. “The rest of the bill, insiders say, looks like a home run.”
Hits Daily Double also states that Springsteen reportedly plans to move his tour with the E Street Band, including the Desert Trip headlining stint, 2022 to 2023. So, the return of Desert Trip could take place in 2022 or 2023- time will tell. Rolling Stone has even released a list of possible headliners, following the Hits Daily Double report.
So far, Springsteen and company are the only ones noted for the upcoming festival. If the lineup is anything like previous years, though, it will be packed with big names. Back in 2016, Desert Trip ran over two weekends — Oct. 7-9 and Oct. 14-16 — at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Headliners included The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Who, Paul McCartney, Neil Young and Roger Waters.
