I've often imagined how our lives (us Bruce fans) have been affected by Landau's meeting with Bruce on that fateful night at Harvard Square Theatre in 1974.
What might have happened had they not met?
Would Bruce still be as relevant or would he exist at all as a performer?
Would he have used up the entire dictionary in the lyrics of his songs by this point?
Would he be touring and performing in circus tents?
Would Balboa Versus The Earth Slayer have been the song that Joe Biden walked out to last night?
These things, my friends, we will never have to contemplate.
Bless you, Jon Landau!
Amen. I met him during a show as he was leaving the soundboard. As he was walking away I started talking to him thanking him and letting him know I first saw Bruce before he did and how my roommate in college introduced me to Bruce's music. He was very polite and gracious. We couldn't have talked more than 90 seconds. He didn't try to walk away or stop me once. He was really nice to me.
that's another chap that I once bumped into somewhere, it was a long time ago
