Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi previewed their new albums for each other when the Boss visited Bon Jovi this summer.
“Bruce came over to my house and we sat down and listened to ‘2020’ and ‘Letter To You,’ “ said Bon Jovi to the Daily Mail.
Bon Jovi just released “2020” on Oct 2 and Springsteen's “Letter to You” is due Oct. 23.
“We're both from New Jersey and have known each other long enough not to pull any punches,” Bon Jovi said. “But he applauded 2020 . . . and his album's great.”
Bon Jovi's new “2020” is more “socially conscious” than previous works. Springsteen's “Letter to You” is from first album to feature the E Street Band since 2014’s “High Hopes.”
Bon Jovi has a home in Middletown and Springsteen lives in Colts Neck. The two have performed together, and shared stages, multiple times over the years, the last time being an election eve rally in 2016 for Hillary Clinton in front Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
