The big Ralph Lauren 50th anniversary New York Fashion Week party, Friday, Sept. 7 in Central Park, had that Boss appeal.
And we're not talking about Hugo Boss.
Bruce Springsteen was one of the guests, joining an A-list lineup that included Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg , Robert DeNiro, Kanye West, Tony Bennett, Anne Hathaway, Anderson Cooper, Andy Cohen, Martha Stewart, Chance the Rapper, and Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas.
The dress was black-tie and jeans.
The Freehold native popped over after his performance of "Springsteen on Broadway" at the Walter Kerr Theatre on 48th Street. He had his photo taken with Lauren in the party's Bethesda Terrace portrait studio, which was later posted on the Ralph Lauren Instagram account.
Clinton sang the praises of Lauren's work.
"I love his clothes,” said Clinton to the Los Angeles Times. “He really was so generous and kind to help with all of my clothes during the presidential campaign — for big events — like the debate suits, the Philadelphia (Democratic Convention) suit, in the white suffragette color. He really stepped up, and that’s a really good example of his friendship to me.”
Springsteen's daughter, equestian rider Jessica Springhsteen, was named a brand ambassador for Polo Ralph Lauren in 2016.
West had a brush up on the party's red carpet when a reporter from Entertainment Tonight asked him about feud between his wife, Kim Kardashian, and model Tyson Beckford.
West, apparently not a champion of a free press, demanded that the reporter be kicked out.
"Ralph Lauren would be very ashamed that you asked that trash question," said West, according to TMZ. "She needs to get kicked out right now, or I'm leaving. Right now. She has to leave, Ralph Lauren should not have people asking questions like this."
The reporter was gone from the scene in an hour, reported The Hollywood Reporter.
Designers Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Jason Wu and John Varvatos were also at the bash.
Celebs are still making a beeline to Springsteen via his hit "Springsteen on Broadway." College basketball coach Dick Vitale and actor Rob Lowe posted pics of themselves with Springsteen and co-star and wife Patti Scialfa in recent weeks.
Former First Lady Michelle Obama was pictured in the Daily Mail with Springsteen exiting the The Time hotel, located at the rear of Kerr Theatre, on Thursday, Sept. 6. The Obamas vacationed with the Springsteens — and Oprah Winfrey and Tom Hanks — in French Polynesia on David Geffen’s luxury yacht in the spring of 2017.
Barack and Michelle Obama saw the play in March.
