There is exciting news out of Australia. A book about legendary soundman Bruce Jackson’s touring years with Bruce Springsteen is in the works. Bruce Jackson worked as Elvis Presley’s sound engineer until Presley’s untimely death in August 1977 and then he went to work as Springsteen’s soundman in 1978 on the Darkness on the Edge of Town tour. The book will provide detailed accounts of Bruce Jackson’s drive for sonic perfection during the years 1978-1988 while he was at the helm of Springsteen’s ever-evolving live sound.
Gary Jackson is the younger brother of Bruce Jackson. This will be the follow-up book to Gary Jackson’s highly regarded book titled “Bruce Jackson: On The Road With Elvis”.
