Billy Joel is responsible for Bruce Springsteen’s motorcycle breakdown this month, but all is good between them.
At Joel’s Monday concert at Madison Square Garden, a spy tells us he sang “Born To Run,” before stopping to explain he’d custom-built Springsteen’s bike at his 20th Century Cycles in Oyster Bay, LI.
When Joel heard about the breakdown, which happened on Veterans Day in Freehold, NJ, he called to ask the Boss, “Was that the bike I built for you?” It was.
Joel apologized, and Springsteen, who was rescued by a biker gang that took him for a beer, shrugged it off with “no worries.”
Joel told the crowd, “No good deed goes unpunished.”
