No kidding, Ponyboy. Bottom Line 1975, final night Passaic 1978, 9/30 or 10/2 85. Plus do they have anything from any of the LA shows in 1980 or 81? And I'd love another one of the soundboards the former soundman gave them. Nugs has had a lot of time to prepare for this and it would have been great to get something before having to wait until who knows when to get another archive show.

How about some early shows, even pre E St Band, and up through The River tour. Aalso, please figure out The Rising! Okay, there may be a technical issue, but there must be a fix! Seriously! 08 and ‘12 were fine shows but tapping the rarity vault would be so nice! I say this respectfully, as I do greatly enjoy and appreciate the Live Archives recordings!

You can forget about Rising shows.  Unless a show was taped by someone else doing the recording.  They were all damaged beyond repair.  From what I remember they all failed. The Plangent Process was supposed to be the next BEST thing in recording.

AFAIK they don't have anything from LA 80 or 81. Last remaining thing from 1980 is apparently a show from somewhere in the NE US (not Nassau).

1981 I think all that remains is one more show from Wembley and maybe 2 more from NJ 81. It's truly a shame they don't have anything from LA 81 (I think there is a bad soundboard floating around maybe? and also that Darkness snippet JEMS posted years ago)

I'd hope for one of the MSG shows in late '80(my first was12-18-80).  Or the cursed 6-24-06 show where there is no bootleg, and I broke my leg! LOL

Just here to clear up some confusion and misinformation:

The deal with the Rising shows was that they were recorded on some other format. Around the turn of the century this was kind of a problem as digital recording was becoming more and more popular and there was yet to be a set standard for audio files, no .wav standard yet. There were different plantforms and companies with their own codecs, and what happened was these companies would go out of business taking the software down with them. So you would get locked out of your own files more or less as there was nothing that could open them. The deal with the Rising shows is that they were recorded onto some other digital file format that no longer exists. They were able to get Helsinki, but the problem may be that they are corrupted now. I haven't heard a detailed answer about it, but it is a shame given that there were a fair number of shows recorded.

There are plenty more River Shows to go around and get released. These were all recorded - now if they still have the tapes is another story but they likely do. This is all based on fact.

Technology can only get you so far. Does Sony and Bruce have money - yes. But do they have enough money, time, will, and energy to hire a bunch of tech guys to reverse engineer the original software just so they could release the stuff?

It was such a pivotal time for the band, a rebirth with new great music and a hell of a tour. If I were them, I would want to throw resources at it to recover the data just for a historical archive.
