Awesome.  BTX with it I hope?

It had gotten to be such a cesspool in its last year (well, honestly, since at least The Rising and likely during the Reunion tour). One of the last threads was "worst Springsteen cover art" and people were just so enthusiastic to hate on everything that it had become highly depressing. So glad to be here.

You'd better look hard and look twice.

If this really is the end of BTX it's not a shock. When was the last time anyone saw the dude who had the forum transferred over to him? He was supposed to be adding moderators and some optional way to keep the forum funded. Obviously none of that materialized.

The sad part of it isn't that BTX could be gone for good but that Backstreets itself could be gone. The news page was one of the great online treasure troves of Springsteen history, something I used to skim from time to time. For some reason I thought only the forum was being transferred over and the main stuff was going to be available for a while. To think that part of Backstreets is gone forever is the real shame of it all.

I figured this would eventually happen so I made a backup of the main site. Got at least the news archive in full and a good number of other pages. It's not complete but it is maybe 70%

If you extract this folder, you can click the "index.html" file to view an offline version of the site.

I should really stay here, though. I don't mind thoughtful, well reasoned, legitimate criticism for the sake of honest debate. Hate for the sake of hate just isn't healthy. BTX is overflowing with that.

There are a few on that page where I have to wonder how they manage to enjoy anything at all.

Yeah I think I'm here for good. I don't mind honest criticism and debate that doesn't devolve into hyperbole and lunacy. I will never shake the poster who said he was looking forward to the day BS was no longer with us so that he wouldn't be guarding the vaults so much and we would have more access.

That's awesome! Thanks for the link! I've got it downloaded and will be checking it out over this cold weekend.

I didn't see that but it certainly fits the tone of the board.

I think the only reason I stuck around was familiarity with the layout, because it definitely wasn't for the stimulating conversation. I was on BTX pre-crash and stayed with it after the board came back up. Some habits are hard to break but it's probably high time to break the BTX habit.
