this russian goalie from THE DUCKS is very hot... hubby is out there for business, and went to the game today, said this kid is the new god of CAL. i know he is the only rookie ever to have 3 shutouts in a row in playoffs, but has ANY goalie ever done 3 straight? actually, no rookie has ever even had 2 in a row.

I was also at the Ducks game this afternoon...If your husband is at the World at Work Conference in Anaheim, have him meet me in the Hilton Sports Bar for the 4:30 Devils/Canes face off...I'll buy him a beer..

your enthusiasm is nice, but you're wrong on nearly everything.

Frank McCool registered 3 straight shutouts for the Leafs in the first three games of the 44-45 Finals. He was a rookie.

Several goalies have 3 consecutive playoff shutouts, most recently the Ducks own G.S. Giguere, whom Bryzgalov replaced in the Calgary series. That was in 2003. Lalime and Johnson did it the year before (2002).

In fact, those were all in the SAME series - Bryzgalov's actually straddle two series.

So, the kid's playing well, no doubt, but he's hardly in uncharted territory.

Yeah,  It's me.

[]Bryzgalov hasn't allowed a goal in 229 minutes, 42 seconds, longest ever by an NHL rookie in the post-season, and fourth longest for any goalie. George Hainsworth tops the list with a stretch of 270:08 in 1930. Giguere is sixth on the list with 217:54 scoreless minutes in 2003 [/]

In all fairness, however, the puck had not yet been invented in 1930. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
