Exactly, dmn. Never mind Bruce's age--Clarence Clemons is 67. By the time this tour is done he'll be crowding 70.

And, let's be honest, God bless Clarence, there were nights on the last tour when he sounded great, but there were also a lot of moments where he sh*t the bed. Saxophone is a very demanding instrument. You need to be physically strong to play it, particularly in the way Clarence plays it.

I've always said, Bruce will never tour with the E Street band without Clarence.
There's no way he ever has another sax player take Clarence's place. If he does I won't be there to see it.

So, this could be it.

This could very well be the last tour for the E Street band.

This is what the story's told
If you feel like Mudd, you'll end up Gold.
If you feel like lost, you'll end up found.
So, amigo . . . lay them raises down.

He's in a hurry, the E Streeters (esp. Clarence) are not gonna be able to tour in a few years time. I believe that deep down Bruce wants to do an album without the E Streeters. That's the reason for WOAD sounding so half-hearted (imo) - he wants to do other projects, but feels like he has to use the E Streeters while their still up and able. Fair enough.
I don't think it's a matter of thinking he has to. These are his brothers, these guys have been friends for over 40 years.

Who can blame him for wanting another tour? I'm sure Danny's death brought it home to all of them. There are no guarantees from here on out.

I'm sure Bruce will go on to make other music. I do think there will be another Seeger Sessions CD and tour--as Bruce had so much fun with that.

Perhaps the E street band will still play together in one form or another.

But as for the big, worldwide tours, again, this could be it.

This could be the last go-round.

Did ya? I can't say I rememeber that. The Reunion tour felt like a new beginning, which it was.

Whereas the Magic tour--particularly down the stretch, when Bruce played so many songs he hadn't played in 30 years--it felt more like a swan song to me.

Like he felt he might not get the chance to play those songs again.

I mean, when I heard he did Little Latin Lupe Lu, I was like WHAT?!?!?

Great, I remember me and thousands of others saying the same thing in 1999.....

True, I recall speculations in the Norwegian press that it could be like farewell tour. This time around? Age and health is a factor, but Clarence is the only one who looks like he is about to need a wheel chair... Nils COULD need one, perhaps, considering his hip replacements, but he doesn't look like it.
