The other day i was listening to Western Stars for about the 200th time, when it occured to me that the first two tracks on the new disc were somewhat distant cousins of Born To Run.

In essence, they are both songs about getting your ass out of someplace tough, and getting it off to somewhere else. Even if that place is sometimes...nowhere!

I started to think, how many songs does Bruce have in which he explores this same topic in one way or another?

Like lots, apparently!

Remember a few years back, when Bruce was the keynote speaker at the South By Southwest thing? At one point in his discourse, he picked up a guitar and played the chorus of the Animals' "We Gotta Get Out Of This Place" then put the guitar down and deadpanned, "that's every song I've ever written."

So then, a random list started in my mind...My Hometown, Rosalita, Incident on 57th, Growin' Up, Thunder Road, Goin' Cali, Long Goodbye, Light Of Day, Open All Night....the list goes on and on.

Any others come to mind?
