I don't know why but this song reminded me of a guy I knew in High School. I'm not sure why maybe I wish he was still here. We weren't friends. He was a Senior and I was a Sophomore. We both played football so I knew him from the team and seeing him around. The team was pretty good his senior year. Anyway he became a gym teacher in a nearby town and quickly grew bored with the job. He headed West to Hollywood and became a highly sought after stuntman. On Sept. 22, 1978, the night after Bruce's stand at the Capitol Theatre, he tried to set what would be...then a world record for the tallest jump into an airbag. It was on the set of a Lee Majors movie, Steel. The air bag ruptured and his lungs couldn't take the impact. He died that night.
OMG Oats, that is such a tragic story! And all for the glory of holding a world record, and just to one-up the stuntman who bested him days before. A cautionary tale.
