I've heard a few recordings from this for Elton John. A bunch of folks are doing a quick mix and then recording. I do prefer a well done full mix rather than a sloppy set and forget mix. That said, if somebody were to find a way to digitally capture all the stems independently, so I could mix in a DAW, I would love this format.
