E Street Band member Nils Lofgren planning to release new solo album in late April

Springsteen‘s E Street Band expected to be on hiatus in 2019, multi-instrumentalist Nils Lofgren has been focusing on solo projects, including a new studio album.

In a post on his official website, Lofgren reports that the record “is feeling really good to me and [I] hope to have it out late April.”

Last March, Nils revealed that the album featured contributions by Crosby, Stills & Nash touring bassist Kevin McCormick and veteran session drummer Andy Newmark. He described the record as “mostly electric with some piano and acoustic songs, too.”

Lofgren also says he’s working on scheduling a U.S. solo tour for May.

This past year, Nils rejoined the lineup of Neil Young‘s backing band Crazy Horse for a couple of shows in May 2018. It’s not known yet if he will be playing with Young and Crazy Horse at two upcoming concertsthey have scheduled in Winnipeg, Canada: February 3 at the Burton Cummings Theatre and February 4 at Centennial Concert Hall.
