Listen to and Watch as Bruce Springsteen Plays Stand Up For Heroes 2018 Benefit Concert

While Bruce Springsteen has spent 2018 focusing on his Springsteen On Broadway one-man show, he did find time to continue his tradition of performing at the Stand Up For Heroes benefit concert last night in New York City. Springsteen played four songs at the Theater At Madison Square Garden to raise funds for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, an organization which “has invested more than $57 million to Find, Fund and Shape™ programs that have empowered impacted veterans, service members and their families.”

The Boss was part of a lineup that also included Jimmy Carr, Eric Church, Jim Gaffigan, Seth Meyers and Jon Stewart. Springsteen missed last year’s concert, the only time since 2007 he didn’t perform at the benefit. Bruce opened with “This Hard Land” and then told a dirty joke. He went on to introduce his wife, musical partner and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa. The pair dueted on “If I Should Fall Behind” before Church emerged to join The Boss on “Working On A Highway.” Springsteen ended his short set with “Dancing In The Dark.” Watch a pair of fan-shot videos captured by Sammy Steinlight as well as a clip of Bruce’s duet with Eric Church:

  • This Hard Land
  • If I Should Fall Behind
  • Working on the Highway
  • Dancing in the Dark

On a side note, I attended along with three other SPLrs.  This show was a bit more streamlined and shorter than most, with a fundraiser instead of an auction.  Other than that ... same old, same old.  I had a great time.
