Been meaning to post a review from the June 30th show -- but been distracted by other things.  To provide another viewpoint:

Jodi and I saw the show on Wednesday night June 30th.  Got a ticket drop direct from the box office late Monday night – 2 seats on the aisle in row B (3rd row – go figure) right in front of the piano.  Of  the times I have seen the show now,  – these were the best seats.  Some thoughts from last night:

[1] The show was fantastic – his voice is in great shape, and guitar playing as good as it has even been or better.  The sound was perfect.  Anyone seeing it for the first time is sure to Love it.  I didn’t notice the extra 1000 people sitting behind us in the larger theater.

[2] He rewrote most of the dialogue, and even some of the stories  that are the similar are told differently.  No more “DNA, your natural ability opening” but rather an updated one -=- much weaker IMHO.

[3] To me, it is less emotionally engaging and doesn’t any longer tell in a comedic but interconnected fashion how he became the boss.  There is a lot more humor in the show now.  Less about his psychology and issues with his dad, and a bit more about being older and missing his dad, mom in her original state, the big man, and others.  More like a bunch of vignettes strung together with great song performances.

[4] The swap of Brilliant disguise for Fire isn’t worth it IMHO.  Patti and he mug and playfully sing the song, but I liked Brilliant Disguise better.  Even a different song from Western Stars or Letter to you would be better for me.

[5] The swap of Born To Run for I’ll See You In My Dreams is okay - -but it ends the show on a different note/flavor for sure =-=.  His performance of the song was amazing.  I guess I would have rather an insert of SYIMD and keep BTR to end

[6] The swap of Long Walk Home for 41 shots is okay – but I love Long Walk Home.  41 shots was well appreciated by the audience.

[7] One interesting thing, during his monologue about the Lord’s Prayer, a loud police siren outside the venue (reminiscent of the end of the Main Point 1975 Incident) could clearly be heard.  He stopped and ad-libbed that they were after him again.  A fun moment, although I may have been among the few in the audience that made the Main Point Linkage.

[8] Bruce looked healthy, but very thin and noticeably older than in the last run.

Would I go again -=- most certainly -- in fact September 1st :-).

Being from NY -- I loved NY again, didn't notice any feces on the street.  Stayed overnight at the Westin 1 block away and LOVED being back in NYC.  It was mid-week so it didn't seem as crowded -- but I certainly masked in the hotel and even sometimes on the street as well for t he reasons Tara noted.
