Angel City Chorale performed a stirring version of Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising"

C'mon up for the "The Rising."

The Los Angeles-based 160-member Angel City Chorale performed a stirring version of Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising"  on the Tuesday, Sept. 11 semi-finals episode of NBC's "America's Got Talent."

The day is the 17th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorists attacks.

"The Rising" is the title track of the 2002 Springsteen album written and recorded in the aftermath of the attacks. He was inspired do so after witnessing the smoldering remains of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 from Sea Bright, according to his memoir, "Born to Run."

A passerby proclaimed, "Bruce, we need you," that day.

"We were so humbled to perform Bruce Springsteen’s 'The Rising' tonight," posted Angel City Chorale on their Facebook page. "We dedicate this performance to the heroes in our society and the first responders 17 years ago who gave their lives for people regardless of who they were. Thank you for your support."
