Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir - Stade De France 29 June setlist thread

Agree. Paris always deserves a visit, but this time the concert was the weak part of the weekend. The mere idea of an entire album conceded (a thing I don't like), BitUSA's 12 songs suck all the time up - mostly when you are scheduled to travel to London for the upcoming night. Everything all way too predictable.

Good solid show - even with BITUSA again.

Amazingly the french can organize a stadium show and transport  logistics better than than us - Good Lord!

FOS stage tix worked well Daughter bombed on down to the front and came back to me for the encores married to some bloke called Jacques - well at least he likes Springsteen.

Food and Museums were top - don't need to see any Impressionists for a while. That Monet bloke does a great acoustic show too. Loved that Burning Lillies cover.

But, bloody hell BITUSA two  nights on the trot....

Solid but unspectacular show. My first preshow acoustic set and probably the highlight for me.

I‘ve been dreading getting BitUSA ever since the 1st Stockholm show. Not as bad as I was fearing. A bit like the idea of going to the dentist – once you are there it is not as painful as you expected.  Never been a big fan of Cover Me and I have heard Dancing enough times to last me 12 tours. Having said that I really enjoyed I’m Goin Down, Downbound Train and My Hometown.

I never understand why people queue for days to get within 'sign grabbing distance' and then pop up with bits of cardboard requesting Johnny B Goode, Burning Love and Lucille. Have these people never heard of The Price You Pay, The Promise, I Wish I Were Blind or any number of his self penned songs that he rarely plays.

The so called Golden circle was a joke and took up half the pitch; yet another way of squeezing a few more Euros from fans. The sound started off well but seemed to deteriorate as the night went on.

Highlight of the night was managing to prise a beer out of Hazardfromharvard.

Highlight of the weekend was missing my 1st London show since November 25 1975. By all accounts HRC was the one to miss - a case of getting to the dentist and finding Christian Szell waiting for you.

Overall 7/10

I agree from start to end (vote included). BitUSA is a great album (I do believe in what I just wrote!), but we have heard those songs too many times. Too many bootlegs, too many requests - it was the fourth time I heard I'm Goin' Down, while I have got The Promise once and Racing twice. Not a fair deal.

Most of the people who scramble for requests must have something wrong with them - I saw just one mobile phone asking for The Price You Pay, while there were TWO cardboard signs for Outlaw Pete, one for Rocky Ground and one for Secret Garden. I will not comment further. Definetily Bruce rejects the idea of doing The Price You Pay - in Padova there were two requests, one right in front of the stage. Only a request by a boy singing WoaSD could do the trick.

The 7/10 mark is accurate at the end.

Hey mando

Question

Did you get a feeling it was being filmed for something special?

Like a future boxset maybe?

Just curious. Something was were posting about during the setlist.

The only boxset I would put this in is one that would go 6 feet under.

If he is planning on doing a BitUSA boxset, it would make more sense to include a few outtakes in the setlist.

I don't get it either, it's crazy. Those 3 are killer tracks...we can only wish for in a whole tour.

Cheers,

In Helsinki last year. Leap of Faith was a request, so was Blinded by the Light if I recall correctly. My memory is a bit hazy, I think he did not actually pick up the signs, but he did refer to them.

True, but the same goes for people who request songs he plays all the time anyway.

Looks like I didn't miss all that much. I'm quite sure I'll get Bor in the USA in Leipzig on Sunday.

I hope everyone who was there had fun. I personally "traded" this concert (as well as London) for another one and I could not b e happier with my decision. I  love Bruce, but sometimes I need a break.

Yep good point, don't get that either!

Apparently there are people that go to concerts with no idea of what he might play, that have never heard of SPL BTX or GL, but just would love him to play The Rising...

We are probably less than 1% of the audience. The  average punter who takes festivals in their  stride would have loved Sunday. I have spent the last two days trying not to prick happiness bubbles as  friends have thanked me for encouraging them to go and see Bruce. Can't really say nah.. it was a 2/10!

All round to my place.

I have Landau on line 2.... just need another £999,000  and the gig is on.   What's that Jon?

The sign requests are a sham?

I just  need to let Bruce know in advance so that he can rehearse and get the teleprompter sorted?

So that will be We Take Care of Our Own please.

It is not the casual concert goer who brings their kid(s) along in the hope of having them publically sacrificed on the altar of WOASD.  How many casual fans do you know who queue up for hours , often days, so that they will be near enough to  the front of stage in the hope that  Bruce will notice them and lift their little Johnny/Janet up onto the stage? Bruce’s kids are now grown up and he is obviously feeling broody. Hence his obsession with having 10 years on stage like performing monkeys and singing out of key.  This is kindergarten rock in its worst form. Unfortunately, it is the so called diehards who are in part to blame because it is they who bring their children to these shows.

We should lay off blaming the casual fans and start realising that we, the so called diehards,  are as much to blame for any perceived poor quality setlists.

...and don't get me onto the subject of diehards and their bloody request signs.

I'm just and tired and bored with myself and the tour.

It will be good to have a few weeks rest before Cardiff and Leeds.

I remember being  highly pissed off at HRC last year and then elated by Helsinki...

Perhaps we'll get something a bit more to our liking later in the month.

Still getting people telling me that Sunday was the best gig they'd ever been to!

Just time traveled back to 1978 - and the bloody set lists were 95% the same every night!

well put Mando, well put, though I know people who brought their kids up on stage...I also know people who leave the shows early to already line up for the following one...nice people but when it comes to Bruce and their kids...well...they know my opinion as I spek it out (like I always do)

the song count from multiple shows with three different albums being performed is, of course, enormous but having seen all three albums it feels at the moment like there is nothing else on this tour except the three albums and everything around the albums is kinda "fixed", too

people rave about the Milan show...it was a greatest hits set just like Milan last year, the emotional songs missing and that is the Bruce I love

after Milan I thought a break would hopefully do them good and see Wembley: it did! Bruce may do whatever he wants and play the Born in the USA album again and again but throw in TWO more emotional songs/unusual songs etc. and most people I know who are currently unhappy with the shows and setlists would be happy again

it's not that hard...so Bruce stop the autopilot mode!! and hopefully never ever again play those big stadiums!
