Someone asked Steve on Twitter. He was told 70 000 and added that was give or take 10 K. I saw an Italian review earlier today that said something about 60 000, but having been there I would guess the number much higher. (Then again, I am terrible at guessing the size of crowds).
Truly amazing show kicking off with a sublime NYC Serenade and then the gems just kept on tumbling out. At one point it looked like he was going to do the complete River album but then did a couple of sign requests. Too many highlights to list but special mention for a wonderful acoustic version of GOTJ and an impassioned LOHAD dedicated to those who died in Nice. One of the best, possibly the best, show of the circa 97 I have been to. It is hard to believe that this sandpit of a venue has hosted two of the best shows of this and the 2013 tour. I plan to land back on earth at some point in the distant future.
A special thanks to those involved in organising the pit queues so brilliantly.
