Seems that SVZ plans a reunion of the Disciples of Soul.

From twitter yesterday (Oct 06):

"London calling! Rumour has it & some new Disciples will be doing a show there end of October. Stay tuned..."

BTW: The rumored date for the show is Oct 29, 2016.

"On July 18, 1982 Little Steven & The Disciples of Soul made their live debut at the Peppermint Lounge. The concert was filmed for video release and as a companion to the album. On May 13 the film version of Men Without Women was given a European premiere at the Cannes Film Festival."

Would love to see this film!!

There are plans for further shows.

From twitter today (Oct 10, 2016):

Q:  any other uk dates?

"Just a spontaneous one-off trial balloon. We're trying to fit one or two more shows in. If it works we'll do a proper tour summer of '17."

Q: Who's gonna be in the band? Is & The Mambo Men free?

"Only Eddie "Kingfish" Manion on baritone sax. And I'm borrowing Darlene Love's music director Marc Ribler. The other 12 all new."

Um, who's summer of 17? Hope he's not suggesting he won't be down here in our summer 17??

Some bits and pieces around the show posted today by Steve on twitter.

"We're starting at 11:00 so people can go to both shows. Including us! Tix on sale tomorrow. Send us your song requests!"

Q: "Not easy for people to get home after a London show starting at that time Steve."

A: "I'm told the tube trains are running 24 hours. We asked about that."

Q: "Booked my ticket today, now to sort out those song requests, please guys no signs on the night! Lets be able to see Stevie."

A: "Haha. Yes thank you. They are a lot of fun on E Street but we don't do signs. Just Twitter. Dancing is encouraged however."

So ..... mostly covers and a band with more members than the previous E-street tour.

Actually, it was less than 50% covers and the band, although 14 of them, were on top form. Steve was in good voice and the crowd seemed to enjoy it although most there seemed to be Southside Johnny fans! Highlight for me was Bitter Fruit although strangely, many did not recognise it.

I count 17 covers out of 22 songs played - it was a "SVZ and the Disciples" show - not a Dukes shows. And only 5 song by "me". I must admit I was expecting something more like this
