Whoa - those three shows OVER-rated? No way - each of them is essential in any collection of boots from those tours! You can nitpick your way around any percieved "issues", but for the importance of the event alone they must be included.
Million Dollar Sound and Winterland 2 added to the list, just means we've got another two to drop for our magic final 12.
No Roxy? Are you nuts???

i don't like the Roxy show.the crowd is too much upfront to my ears.
also,Bruce's remarks seem like he drank too much.
there are much better shows ,the 2nd Winterland for instance.

A list of best 1978 bootlegs without Roxy would undermine the whole project.
My 5 votes go to:
1978-07-07 Roxy, LA (No Private Parties, Ev2)
1978-09-19 Passaic (Passaic Night, CC)
1978-09-21 Passaic (Singing Our Birthday Songs, Godfather)
1978-09-30 Atlanta (Same Old Played Out Scenes)
1978-12-15 Winterland (PS @ Winterland, Prodigal Son)
Passaic 21st September has such a great second set.

We're going to use a poll to get the final five, the most important thing now is to get the initial list down to 12.
Apologies Pete - I should pay more attention. My 12 then are:
1978-07-07 Roxy, LA (No Private Parties, Ev2)

Anybody think the Oh Boy! show from West Virginia should make the list? I always liked that one.
I think we might struggle to get a consensus on twelve. Maybe it might be best to forget cutting down the list and run the poll now. Up to you Steve, it's your baby.
A great list. Can't we just make it 12:). Cutting to five, is like cutting out dessert.
Damn this tour. Bruce was too good. And all the radio broadcasts... the bastbard. He's made it hard on us.
Here's my 12. However, trying to narrow this tour down to 5 may cause insanity.
1978-05-31 Boston (Looking for that million Dollar Sound-Pitch corrected)
1978-07-07 Roxy, LA (No Private Parties, Ev2)
1978-08-09 Agora (Agora Night, CC)
1978-09-03 Saginaw (1st gen tape version)

How about top-5 for everything else, top-10 for Darkness?
How about a percentage of the tour length say 10%

I thought the idea was that there will be 12 shows we can vote for. This will lead to a top 12 in my opinion.
It will - we'll have the top five "must-haves" plus the others as recommended. The voting will decide - we're all VERY excited.

It's gonna make the list. Why? Because folks have over rated it for years. There are WAYYYY better Darkness shows. It's a choppy performance. Point Blank and Independence Day weren't ready to be played. I haven't listen to it since Ev2 came out with his edit. ALL of these shows are a better representation of the Darkness tour.

Pete?
Pete?
If Independence Day was not ready to be played at the Roxy, then he never should have finished it! Love the Roxy show. And the rawness of Point Blank was amazing! My copy is worn out, please send me yours, with all the better shows you have, you wont get to it again, i am sure! there is an excitement to the Roxy Show that is hard to match. Love listening to it.
I love the MSG shows. I had most of these shows on a hard drive that got wiped out, so i havent listened to some of them in a while. not enough time or energy to redownload those.
my five:
Winterland 12/15
Passaic night
Agora
Roxy
MSG 8/21

Poll added - please vote! Went for 15 options this time, if any tour deserves special treatment it's this one. Sorry it's taking a while to get the polls down, they're a pain in the arse to create, I always fuck it up and have to start again.
guess i need to listen to more of these
1978-12-15 Winterland (PS @ Winterland, Prodigal Son)

Given that is the first show I ever saw, so would I. But I think what was seen at the trade show was probably clips mostly from the 9.27 show, of which parts have leaked some time ago.
I'd take a complete 30/9/85 show over just about anything, by anyone.
