I hope Steve listens, Bruce too. This book, though I have not read it, has merit. I've had a limp, an odd walk since I was born. Hence choosing the name 'CrookedCrutch" for SPL. I was bullied in school big time. Luckily I had parents who taught me mental toughness and fortitude. I felt like I was the most bullied kid in school. I thought everybody hated me. It took a lot of years and perspective to understand that what mean kids did to me said more about themselves than it did about me. I never reached the point where I ever hated myself but I did consider vengeful fantasies. Fortunately, I was never pushed to the breaking point. When I reached my mid teens, an age where I could have done something about it, instead of discovering guns, I discovered Bruce Springsteen's music. I can't quite put my finger on why, but it spoke to me. I saw myself differently because of it.
Good luck with your book. Don't give up. Keep pushing till it's understood!

But I'm afraid I cannot agree with your conclusion. Bullying is terrible and more should be done to stop it. Absolutely. I could not agree more. But not all school shooters were bullied. And not all victims of bullying become shooters. But all school shooters had access to guns.

In Finland there has been 3 school shootings and one bombing in a shopping center. Each time the shooter had suffered from bullying. I'm gonna give a ballpark figure of 90% has something to do with bullying.
Banning guns does drop the amount of incidents (gun involved), but there are so many guns out there already. It's going to be a hard task. Something needs to be done. I really hope that Bruce and Steven does listen.
I'd really like to see anti-rally thing going.
