Here are my filters for the baseball playoffs.

Top priority: Yankees not only lose, but they choke.

Teams I like alot: Phillies, Red Sox, Indians

Teams I have no like or dislike for: Rockies, Angels, D-Backs.

The X Factor: The Cubs. I haven't felt any attachment to them this summer, but I have in the past. If they start winning, then I will jump on the bandwagon.

MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

There is one team that will be victorious and it is from New York, and I can't wait to hear you sissies when you come up with these gems - "Oh, with their payroll they just did what they were supposed to do", "It's not fair", "The Yankmees suck", etc, etc.

They will win it for George this year - you know, that owner that all you dicks wish you had, and the one that actually reinvests his money back into the team.
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!
Loser?
I didn't lose anything. I'm not a member of the NY Mets. The team sucked, they tanked, they blew it. I'm disappointed. But I take no responsibility, nor do I rise and fall on what the Mets do.

Just like if the Yankees win, you'll still be a dick.
Just when they think they have all the answers, I come and change all the questions.
I was pissed when I saw the lineup...

When Utley broke his hand, Burrell got hot...Charlie decided it was a good idea to move Burrell to the 3 hole.

So when Utley returns, he bats Utley 2nd against lefties and Burrell 3rd.

Today the lineups are announced and I see he has Utley in the 3 spot with Burrell batting 6th.

If it wins you a Division Title, why fuck with it?

Now, the home plate umpire, was he not just awful for both sides, or what?
I am not usually one to go off on that shit, but the 3rd strike to Howard was horsecrap. That being said, he probably would have swung and missed at the next pitch anyway.

If Rollins doesn't do anything early this team is cooked. Rockies did a nice job of keeping 1-4 locked down today, deserved it and we'll just try and get it back tomorrow.

Still think this thing is gonna go 5.

Does the mediocrity start in 1981?
Speedball...
Your baseball posts the last few days have sucked. If someone woke out of a time bubble and read your posts they would think that no wild card team has ever won a playoff series and that there was no World Series MVP after 1980.

Here's the rest of the list...

1981 Ron Cey, Pedro Guerrero, Steve Yeager Los Angeles Dodgers
1982 Darrell Porter St. Louis Cardinals
1983 Rick Dempsey Baltimore Orioles
1984 Alan Trammell Detroit Tigers
1985 Bret Saberhagen Kansas City Royals
1986 Ray Knight New York Mets
1987 Frank Viola Minnesota Twins
1988 Orel Hershiser Los Angeles Dodgers
1989 Dave Stewart Oakland Athletics
1990 Jos? Rijo Cincinnati Reds
1991 Jack Morris Minnesota Twins
1992 Pat Borders Toronto Blue Jays
1993 Paul Molitor Toronto Blue Jays
1994
No World Series
1995 Tom Glavine Atlanta Braves
1996 John Wetteland New York Yankees
1997 Liv?n Hern?ndez Florida Marlins
1998 Scott Brosius New York Yankees
1999 Mariano Rivera New York Yankees
2000 Derek Jeter New York Yankees
2001 Johnson, Schilling Arizona Diamondbacks
2002 Troy Glaus Anaheim Angels
2003 Josh Beckett Florida Marlins
2004 Manny Ram?rez Boston Red Sox
2005 Jermaine Dye Chicago White Sox
2006 David Eckstein St. Louis Cardinals

Care to argue that Scott Brosius, or even Ray Knight to dispel any notion of favoritism, is a stellar player?

WTF is a time bubble? Even if they did, before they went in, there was no such thing as the wild card so there.

Oh and 2 mediocrties out of the 25 years there. Oh, you WERE right. Shit, I'll even give you Yeager, Eckstein and Borders
Ugh!

Still don't know why he took the starter out (you can save the he sucks stuff)

Still don't understand why Joe Table was on the post-season roster, much less the regular season roster.

Well it was a fun year and we kept the Mets out of the play-offs, for that the Phils should be thanked, sort of, maybe.

Yah, will do.
Wait till the Yankee batters experience the shadows tomorrow. 5:00 start at the Jake in October, the ball can not be picked up from the pitcher's hand until its right on the plate. Factor in that Fausto will be on the mound, Yankees will be walking back to the dugout shaking their heads in disbelief all night.

Clemens: Bug infestation too distracting 'for our young kids'
Oct. 6, 2007
CBSSports.com wire reports

NEW YORK -- If Roger Clemens had been making the call, the New York Yankees really would have bugged out.

Clemens viewed Friday night's insect invasion at Cleveland's Jacobs Field from both the dugout and a television in the clubhouse, and he concluded it was too distracting an environment to pitch in.

"I would have probably pulled us off the field," Clemens said Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

Yankees rookie Joba Chamberlain was covered with the midges, an insect related to mosquitoes. He threw a pair of wild pitches that allowed the tying run to score in the eighth, and Cleveland went on to win 2-1 in 11 innings and take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.

"I think it's hard enough for our young kids to go out there and concentrate in that situation to have something like that happen," said Clemens, the Yankees' Game 3 starter for Sunday.

Asked whether he would have pulled the team off the field had he been an umpire or the manager, Clemens didn't give a direct answer and then said his earlier response benefited from hindsight.

"It's easy to say now because it only lasted about 40 minutes," Clemens said.

Yankees first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz said playfully that the gnat-like nuisance was caused by the cologne brand of the team captain.

"The joke around the guys was that we all have Derek Jeter's Driven on," he said. "Joba looked like the movie, Bees. He had them all over his neck and his back. But then again, so did their guys."
