IIRC the official clip for NYCS from that night was mixed by Bob Clearmountain. I wonder why Bruce Inc. haven't used his skills this time because the sound on this one to my ears is very good.

Seems that the issue is now checked by nugs.net.

From twitter today (Nov. 13):

I don't believe Bob C is on staff, like Toby et al.  Bob does a lot of work for a lot of artists.  To ask him to do all of Rome is a) expensive, and b) going to be at a higher quality than what Bruce's contract says these shows should/would be.  That said, Rome was just horrible.  I'm sure that when they do re-release it, it'll sound a little better...but I wouldn't hold my breath for a Bob C full show of Rome.

The remixed version is now available. Let's hope they've fixed the sound issues.

I have my download now, don't know how it sounds in comparison to the first mix, but...

how is it possible to mix an Italian show and forget to mix the audience in? Listen to the crowd singing part of Waiting On A Sunny Day or Thunder Road or to every ending of a song.

A great show, but without hearing the audience no atmosphere at all (which without any doubt was there that night in Rome).

I'm a little bit disappointed!

I was there, they were loud, sang along with gusto (Italian, right ) and were definitely part of the show's ambiance.  I don't have the download so I can't say if it's been affected by lack of crowd sounds, but being there with people who were so obviously passionate and enthusiastic about Bruce -- NYCS was beyond anything I'd ever experienced, with the violins- was an integral part of the experience.
